With two new coasters on the horizon, Indiana Beach may have a third one in the works. And it may be yet another classic.

According to Screamscape, a familiar track type has been spotted by their upcoming Schwarzkopf coaster American Drier Looping.

Keep an eye out for 2023!

Recently, Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois has closed their launched shuttle coaster Vertical Velocity for the season. According to Screamscape, the following sign has been placed at the entrance to the attraction:

This is most certainly no coincidence, since a similar roller coaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom received the same retheme just recently. In 2019, V2: Vertical Velocity was renamed and rethemed to Flash: Vertical Velocity. The coaster received an all new red and yellow paint job to go along with the famous DC Comics character The Flash.

This is likely an attempt to incorporate more superhero IPs into the Six Flags chain. Nevertheless, I love a good launch coaster, so no matter what paint job it has, I’m down to ride it.

After months of pandemic and staffing-related delays, the new SeaWorld attractions originally slated for a 2020 debut are now confirmed to be opening in 2022.

These attractions were originally pushed to a 2021 opening due to the pandemic, and were reportedly pushed again to 2022 due to alleged staffing issues that have been affecting multiple industries.

The new attractions will include:

IRON GWAZI (Seen Above): A Rocky Mountain Construction makeover of the famous Gwazi roller coaster at Florida’s Busch Gardens Tampa.

PANTHEON: An Intamin multi-launched roller coaster at Virginia’s Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

EMPEROR: A Bolliger & Mabillard Dive Coaster coming to California’s SeaWorld San Diego.

In addition, Texas’ SeaWorld San Antonio will debut a Screaming Swing by S&S Sansei. It will be the tallest ride of its kind in the world.

I am excited to announce that I will be heading to my first new park since the pandemic. I will be visiting Pennsylvania’s Kennywood this weekend, and Cedar Point next week! Yesterday, Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, TX announced Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger, a new Dive Coaster model by Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard. It will be the first new B&M coaster to come to the Six Flags chain since X Flight in 2012.

The coaster itself will feature a 95 degree drop. This gives it the steepest drop on any B&M Dive Coaster, and it is the first ride of its kind to go beyond-vertical. Moreover, it will feature two heart-stopping inversions: an Immelmann and a Zero-G Roll.

SFFT President Jeffery Seibert commented on the addition saying: “Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger joins an already stellar lineup of record-breaking roller coasters, rides, and attractions.”

Suffice to say, this is going to be one incredible coaster, and I can’t wait to return to this park.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Texas is continuing to hype up their New for 2022 attraction. So far, the park has released plenty of teasers, which have only served to feed speculation. The high level of teasing being done by the park suggests that we will indeed see a new ride come out. But what could it be? We know it will take the place of the Sundance Theater, but we don’t have any indication of what exactly the ride will be.

Some have speculated that the new attraction will be a roller coaster. And in the time-honored tradition of bringing innovative coasters to the park, some have suggested an Axis coaster by American manufacturer S&S Worldwide. So far, there is no indication of this being the case. They could also go for a more standard coaster model like a SkyRocket II.

Either way, I’ll personally be looking out for what kind of new, exciting attraction comes to the park.
